Thank you for your interest in getting a commission! This page will give you an overview of the process and what to expect for your commission.
Available in 9in x 12in or 11in x 14in (sizes can be adjusted to their equivalent European sizes A4 or A3 upon request).
All personal commissions come framed and ready to hang (included in your purchase).
About:
I work with your precious vintage family photographs (no originals required) to create a unique piece of art made just for you. I often hear people say that they have a dusty box full of vintage family photographs that they are dearly holding on to, not really knowing how to honor them in the way they should be yet feeling very attached to them. Commissioning a piece of art that includes some of these photographs is a beautiful way of honoring loved ones and the legacy that came before you. It’s a very delicate and special way to hold on to these memories and to display them in your home where you can see them each and every day in a new light.
Process:
After you make your purchase of the 50% deposit (listed as payment 1: deposit), I will send you an email within 48h (separate from the order confirmation email) to discuss an exact timeline for your commission and the delivery details. We will also discuss the details of your project including color palette, composition, shape, which photographs we will be using, symbols etc. I will ask you to provide me with high resolution scans (300DPI or higher) of your family photographs, letters or other documents you want to include in your piece.
After we have settled on some details, I will create a small “rough sketch” of the final piece and email it to you for review if you wish (some clients prefer to be surprised and don’t need a sketch). I will be able to make any changes at this time (if requested); any additional changes after the first review will require an extra fee per change.
Once I finish your piece, I will email you an image and we will decide on a frame color together. At this time, you will make the second half of your payment (listed as payment 2: final payment) which will also include shipping costs based on your location.
A typical timeline from start to finish ranges from 60-90 days.
